Martin Haft’s 9 years at Sluno

How did your first year at U&SLUNO go?
The first year was unforgettable, just like the first meeting with Marta Nováková. We met at the then still mandatory company-wide breakfast on Monday morning. My supervisor introduced me as a project manager, and Marta welcomed me with the following words: “I’ll keep an eye on you.”
I met a lot of people in the first two years who managed projects and left after a few months. Back then, meetings that lasted from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. were still common. I didn’t believe I could do it either; however, U&SLUNO presented me with an opportunity to grow, and I took it.. Every following year was just better. Hopefully, that will continue..
What would you like to accomplish by the end of 2022?
Surpass the previous one. In terms of projects with our largest customer, 2021 was a record year; however, there is still huge space for growth. Whether it’s warehouse robots, the expansion of the supplier portal or a new system for in-store work. It also involves expanding the team of project managers, with whom we will carry out these projects. Personally, I want to focus on my family and a new member of our household, Bruno the Weimaraner.
What do you enjoy doing, and where do you find the energy to work?
I spend my free time with my family. The last two years have been Covid-related; thus, leisure options have been limited. However, with the world appearing to get back on track and Bruno needing somewhere to discharge a lot of energy, it seems that the mountains will be the best place to recharge the batteries. Although the kids will protest..
